Canine Parvovirus: This virus has been around for nearly 20 years, is very hard to disinfect away, and is spread in large numbers by infected dogs. This means that there is virus everywhere: on every carpet, on every floor, in every yard, and in every park. This disease is highly infectious and is spread from dog to dog by direct or indirect contact with their feces. It can be presented in two forms: cardiac and intestinal. The common signs of the intestinal form are severe vomiting and bloody diarrhea. The cardiac form causes respiratory or cardiovascular failure.
