Other foods

  • While we prefer pellets as the diet of choice for birds, you can add vegetables as a treat to the diet. Before the availability of pellets, we recommended adding vegetables to seed diets to improve the quality. The difficulty with this approach is the need to train your bird  to a wide range of foods in order to create a balanced diet. There are still diet combinations that are recommended by some individuals.
