Canine Dental Vaccine

Canine Periodontis: Periodontal disease is an inflammation and/or an infection of the gums and bones around your dog’s teeth, which can lead to mouth pain and tooth loss if left untreated. There is a vaccine to help combat periodontal disease in dogs known as the Porphyromonas vaccine. This vaccine is designed to aid in the prevention of periodontitis and is administered in two doses, three weeks apart, then repeated yearly. It is designated for use in healthy dogs, meaning that dogs already showing signs of periodontal disease should undergo treatment to restore teeth to a healthy state before use of the vaccine in order to ensure that further disease is prevented.
