Our Objective

Disease can be compared to an iceberg. As we observe the iceberg, we recognize the part of the iceberg we are seeing is just the tip. The portion under the surface of the water is massive. In the same way, when disease rears its ugly head, there is already massive disease that has developed under the surface. The key to prevention of disease is to identify the disease process before it ever raises to the surface. We are able to anticipate the common diseases our pets will be at high risk for as they age. This allows us to tailor our preventative programs to identify these diseases at a early stage. By recognizing the disease before clinical signs our goal is to

• stop the disease process

• slow the disease process

• eliminate the disease process

Our Recommendation

After carefully evaluating the age at which these diseases begin to commonly develop, we have been able to create a combination or battery of tests that will allow us to identify clues that certain diseases are developing.

Currently, we recommend these screenings for all patients that are over seven years of age. On patients that have not have major abnormalities, these screenings should be performed on a yearly basis. I can hear the moans now, but please recognize the following fact.

Important fact: Remember for each year your body ages,

your pet's body has aged roughly seven years. Or, another way to

view this is your pets ages one year every three months.

Our Offering

We offer two screening packages for both the dog and cat.

• Our Gold Package is directed at looking for the two most common diseases a dog or cat is at risk for. Roughly sixty to seventy percent of our senior patients will develop one these two diseases.

• Our Platinum Package is directed at identifying the major diseases common to our dog and cats. These diseases will account for roughly ninety five percent of the disease our senior pets will develop. (This is obvioulsy our best recommendation!)
